When Passion Becomes the Experience

Majey Makama, an experiential management professional and two-time speaker at Creators Connect, believes that great experiences begin with understanding people: what they love, how they think, and what makes them feel something.

His work goes beyond simply creating an event or campaign. He focuses on building experiences that people can see, feel and remember. By paying attention to people's perspectives, he creates moments that allow brands to connect with their audiences beyond just words or advertisements.

His journey to where he is today has also been shaped by risk. At one point, he travelled to Jos simply to pursue his passion and be closer to what mattered to him. It was a decision that required stepping outside his comfort zone, but it became part of the journey that brought him to where he is today.

Through experience, Majey has learned that when working with brands, they may not always care about the process as much as they care about the result. The work may involve countless decisions, challenges and unseen effort, but what ultimately matters is the experience and outcome delivered.

He has also learned another reality of working with people: you don't completely own your time anymore. When your work involves clients, teams and other people's expectations, your time becomes part of the commitment.

But for Majey, there is a deeper principle behind all of it.

When skill is combined with genuine passion, the work becomes better than simply chasing income.

Money can eventually come from the skill. It can be monetized, developed into a career and turned into a business. But passion gives you the reason to keep improving when the money isn't there yet.

Majey's story is ultimately about taking risks, understanding people, creating meaningful experiences and allowing passion to lead before income follows.

Because when you become genuinely good at something you love, monetization can become the result — not the reason you started.
