Aduragbemi Known as Black Bulb, he is a cinematographer, video editor, content creator and web developer whose creative journey spans more than a decade.
As the first speaker at the event, he brought a perspective shaped by years of working across different sides of visual storytelling. From cinematography and content creation to editing and technology, his experience has allowed him to understand that creating a video is not simply about capturing beautiful images, it is about deciding what those images ultimately mean.
One of the most striking points he shared was directed at editors:
“You as an editor, you are like a god. It is you who tells the story, it is you who determines how the people feel.”
For him, editing carries a responsibility that goes beyond cutting clips together. The editor decides what the audience sees, what they don't see, when a moment should breathe, when tension should build, and when an emotion should hit.
The footage may already exist, but the story is still in the editor's hands.
His perspective reminds us that editing is not just a technical skill. It is a form of storytelling, one that can shape emotions, influence perception and completely change how an audience experiences a story.
With his experience across cinematography, editing, content creation and technology, Black Bulb's message was a powerful way to open the conversation around creativity:
The camera captures the moment, but the editor gives the moment meaning.
